My name is Steven Jennings. I have started this blog to share my thoughts on various sports topics. I will mostly be doing what I like to call "Four Phases." It's a spin-off of the football term "Three Phases" which include Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. What I will be doing is picking four topics to write about. So I hope you enjoy, let's go Four Phases:
NBA Trades- First it's Pau Gasol to the Lakers. Then it's Shaq for Shawn Marion. Now two more trades have been made. The Atlanta Hawks have traded Anthony Johnson, Shelden Williams, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright and a second-round pick to the Kings for Mike Bibby. Next the Mavs finish off the trade to get Jason Kidd. As a Bulls fan I'm left questioning, "when are the Bulls gonna make a steal?" All these top players are being dealt for next to nothing, yet Ben Wallace is still wasting space on the Bulls roster. There is something seriously wrong with that.
Spygate- Why do we care so much? Ok, let's say the Patriots did tape the Rams walk-through to see what kind of defensive schemes they would be running. Great, so they knew the part that every team knew. Every team knew about the Rams defense. It was the Rams offense that everyone was trying to figure out. Not to mention that in today's sports where coaches and coordinaters come and go, everybody knows everybody's plays. Even if you know the plays, it comes down to execution. The Patriots beat the Rams on a last minute field goal. You'd think that if they knew what the Rams were doing the game wouldn't even be close. I say it's time to put Spygate to bed, it's over, they got caught spying on the Jets, end of story, let's move on.
Hey baseball is back!- Yes, finally pitchers, catchers, and the majority of position players have arrived! The pitchers are pitching, the catchers are catching, and the batters are batting. Good old baseball. But the important thing is that the jokes and pranks are in full force. I would like to thank Brett Myers for taking a break from beating his wife to give us this piece of comedic genius:
Holy Cow it's been Ten Years- Legendary Broadcaster Harry Caray passed away ten years ago today. So I give you this:
